Anhydrous composition (I) in paste form, for dyeing human keratin fibers, comprises one or more oxidation dye precursor, one or more hydrogen peroxide complex and a polymer containing heterocyclic vinyl monomer, and one or more alkaline agent. An independent claim is included for a method for dyeing the human keratin fibers comprising mixing (I) with an aqueous composition and applying the resulting composition on the keratin fibers, leaving and rinsing the fibers.
