A writable recording medium and a data recording method using the same are provided to shorten the user data recording time and reduce the recording error. A writable recording medium comprises a data area(200), and a lead-in area(100). The lead-in area includes a read-only area, and a recordable area arranged outside than the read-only area. A data recording method using the writable recoding medium comprises a step of recording user data in the data area of the recording medium, and a step of recording an end sector number of the data area in the recordable area of the lead-in area.
