The device has a heat exchange fluid circulating circuit carrying a de-ionization unit (7). A valve (6) regulates flow of fluid passing in the unit. The circuit is arranged parallel to an inner temperature regulating compartment (R) of a fuel cell. A control logic (8) receives conductivity values (C1) and temperature values (T1) of a heat exchange fluid in real time to estimate the values of the unit (7). The logic automatically adjusts the valve such that only a part of flow of the fluid is brought to the unit (7) for regeneration, where the part is higher based on the values. An independent claim is also included for a device for regulating temperature of a fuel cell by a heat exchanger fluid.
