An apparatus for opening and shutting the roof of athletic facilities is provided to reduce the waste of manpower and to do athletics in the pleasant environment by circulating air in facilities. An apparatus for opening and shutting the roof of athletic facilities comprises a driving unit(200) shutting and opening the roof of athletic facilities by inserting and drawing a movable second structure(2) to and out from the inside of a fixed first structure(1), and supporting the second structure and moving the second structure, an H-beam shaped rail(100) arranged parallel in two rows as a moving path of the driving unit, and a motor connected with the driving unit by a wire having the appointed length and rotating in the forward direction and the reverse direction to transfer power to the driving unit.
