PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biaxially oriented polyester film being excellent in coating property and being suppressed in the deposition of an oligomer to a surface by heat treatment and processing of a film, which deposition has been a problem in a polyester film for an optical member. SOLUTION: In the biaxial oriented polyester film in which at least one surface does not have a coating layer, a water drop contact angle of the surface is 50°or less, a deposition amount of the oligomer on the surface after it is subjected to heat treatment at 180°C for 10 minutes is 5.0 mg/m<SP>2</SP>or less, and an amount of electrostatic charge of the surface is 2.0 kV or less.
