The present invention deals with a locking system for a drawer (2) of a drawer dishwasher and a method for unlocking a drawer (2) of a drawer dishwasher. The locking system comprises: a locking device (50) for locking a drawer (2) of the drawer dishwasher to a chassis (1) or frame of the dishwasher; an opening attempt sensor (10) for detecting an opening attempt of the drawer (2); and a control unit (20) connected to the opening attempt sensor (10) and the locking device (50). The control unit (20) is arranged to trigger stop of a dishwasher pump (30) of the dishwasher (1) based on a detected opening attempt, and wherein the control unit (20) is further arranged to trigger the locking device (50) to unlock after the dishwasher pump (30) has been stopped. Thereby, there is provided a reliable and safe way of opening the drawer (2) during a washing program without the risk of hot water splashing out onto the user or onto the floor. |
