In an optical display system for an aircraft all-weather landing system comprising a cathode ray tube 12 (Fig. 1) on which is displayed, for example, a representation of beacons disposed along a runway, a collimating lens 10 and a partially reflecting or dichroic mirror 14 for superimposing the representation on the pilot's field of vision, the image on the cathode ray tube is multiplexed as shown in Fig. 5 by a mosaic of prisms and lenses. The optical axes of the elements of the mosaic may be inclined to one another to further increase the angle of view and allow for movement of the pilot's head. The pilot may view the image through the mosaic and the mirrors and telescopes shown in Figs. 6 and 7. A colour filter may be interposed between the cathode ray tube and the mirror to distinguish the image from the scene viewed through the windscreen. The prisms may be replaced by optical fibres.
