The device has a signal generator ring (2) coupled with a part, which carries out rotary motion. A stationary sensor unit (4) generates an electrical signal reproducing the rotary motion of the signal generator ring. The signal generator ring and the sensor unit are integrated in a wheel bearing unit (1), and the sensor unit and an inner cap (5) of the bearing unit form an integrated assembly. The signal generator ring and a hub cap (3) of the bearing unit form an integrated assembly. The sensor unit in the inner cap is arranged in right angle to a rotational axis.
