PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nozzle shielding mechanism and a liquid discharge device, capable of preventing an ink characteristic from being fluctuated, while keeping an opening shape of a nozzle in a circular shape. SOLUTION: This nozzle shielding mechanism includes: a liquid delivery head 51 capable of discharging a liquid from a nozzle opening 531; and a shielding member 54 equipped with an opening part 541, attached to a nozzle opening 531 side in the liquid delivery head 51, and for shielding or turning up the nozzle opening 531 by extending and contracting in response to a temperature change of the liquid delivery head 51.
