摘要 1376996 Composite insulation coatings MEYNADIER & CIE AG 21 Jan 1972 [1 Feb 1971] 2944/72 Heading B2E A process for insulating a substrate comprising the steps of (1) providing the substrate with at least one plastic insulating layer of bitumen, tar or a mixture of bitumen or tar with a natural or synthetic latex by the simultaneous, but separate application of an emulsion or dispersion of plastic insulating material and a precipitant therefor, and (2) covering the plastic insulating layer so formed with at least one layer of an elastomer by a similar separate emulsion/precipitant method of coating. A further plastic insulating layer may be formed over the elastomer layer. The precipitant is a material such as an emulsion or latex of charge opposite to that of the coating material, an aqueous solution of a mineral acid or a salt thereof or a pulverent substance such as cement, hydraulic lime, gypsum, anhydrite, burnt lime, bentamite, fuller's earth, kaolin, finely divided silica, kieselguhr, trass, finely divided blast furnace slag or brick powder, slate powder, active charcoal, carbon black or slurries thereof. The elastomer may be polychloroprene, polyacrylontrile, styrene/ butadiene copolymer, or natural rubber, which may be pigmented. The plastic insulating layer is 2 to 5 mm thick and the elastomer layer is 0.5 to 3 mm thick and each layer may contain anti-aging agents. The substrate may be the wall of a building, or a mine gallery or tunnel, and the coatings are preferably applied by spraying.
