<p>The room to be heated has an inner wall separated by a cavity from an outer wall. The room side surface of this inner wall is well insulated and highly reflective while the cavity side surface is roughened, black and a good emitter. The inner wall also has recesses containing electric heaters which are supplied at off peak tariffs. Air passages containing dampers link the cavity with the inside and outside to provide any required flow of fresh or recirculated room air which can be heated by the emitting inner surface of the inner wall. Supplementary heaters equipped with fans are installed in the cavity to provide boost at normal tariff in extreme cold spells.</p> |
