1443398 Valves BROHLTAL-DEUMAG AG FUR FEURERFESTE ERZEUGNISSE 13 March 1974 [13 March 1973] 11280/74 Heading F2V [Also in Division F4] A casting ladle, having a discharge orifice at its bottom 10, 11, is provided with a rotary seal comprising a sealing plate D which is eccentrically mounted in a rotary part 5 so that, on rotation of the part 5, an opening through the plate D can be brought into and out of alignment with an opening in the ladle bottom. The rotary part 5 is mounted by means of a flange 12 at its circumference which runs on rollers 4 projecting inwardly from a holder ring 2. The ring 2 is resiliently urged towards a base plate 1 at the ladle bottom by springs 7 or by hydraulic pressure devices. Two arms 6 on the rot - ary part 5 can be connected to hydraulic actuation devices (not shown). So that the rotary part 5 can be dismounted from the ladle, the flange 12 is circumferentially divided into segments with gaps (18) therebetween, Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown), whereby the rotary part can be turned beyond its opening and closing movement to a position in which the rollers 4 can pass through the gaps. The running surfaces of the segments may slope circumferentially upwardly (as illustrated in Fig. 3, not shown) to ensure that, when the rotary member 5 is rotated to close the ladle orifice, the sealing plate D is urged upwardly against the ladle bottom. |
