Warp knitting machine having needle and slide beds mounted on support levers for guiding parallel to needle and slide shafts has the groups of support levers for the needle bed and slide bed journalled eccentrically. Pref. the shaft of the slide bed is arranged behind the shaft of the needle bed, in the direction of extension of the lever. Alternatively, the shaft may be mounted in front of the shaft. Open and closed position of the slides can be preset more accurately.
