The telephone cable has a electrically insulated core (1) surrounded by a woven metal screen which is turned over to form a crown (2) on a bared end of the cable. The screen is covered by an insulating sheath (3). The bared end of the cable, together with the crown (2) and a rubber ring (4) are pushed into a socket (A). The rubber ring (4) has plane lateral faces (5, 6) in contact with two metallic washers (7, 8). The washers (7, 8) are designed to prevent the rotation of the ring (4) with respect to the cables axis. The ring (4) presses against the crown (2) via a washer (9). The washers (7, 8, 9) and the ring (4) are pressed against the crown (2) by a nut having a screwed end (13).
