The coupling for the articulated vehicle has separate coupling and locking levers, with an indicator directly attached to the locking lever to indicate that the coupling is safely secured. Both levers are sprung into the locking position and are released and held by a trip lever. The locking lever is coupled to the indicator switch by a cam and in the locking position secures the coupling lever to prevent it from rotating. The indicator is linked to a cab monitor.
