<p>The panel recovers heat from sunrays and humid ambient air, acting as the evaporator of a heat pump. It comprises lengthwise, transverse or needle-type externally-finned tubes (1) fixed to a metal bracket (2) in a plane inclined at roughly 60 deg. to the horizontal. Reflectors (7) can also be mounted on the bracket, to increase heat absorption from the sunrays. The complete panel can be arranged to tilt on a horizontal axis (4), either to collect the maximum amount of heat or protect the absorber proper from the sun and convert it into a rejection condenser for the air-conditioning of the building.</p> |
