PURPOSE:To conserve the supply amount of heat energy to a steel-making furnace, by a method wherein a granular stock material is preheated by the hot exhaust gas of the steel-making furnace while transferred by a hermetically closed conveyor apparatus and said preheated stock material is thrown into the steel-making furnace by gas transportation due to the above stated exhasut gas. CONSTITUTION:A granular stock material 8a from a steel-making granular stock material tank 8 is continuously charged into a hermetically closed screw conveyor 7 and, while conveyed to a direction shown by arrow, preheated by the high temp. exhaust gas passing through a duct 6 from the main body of a steel- making electric furnace 1. The preheated stock material 8a is thrown into the furnace 1 through a supply duct 15 connected to a combustion chamber 4 at one end thereof and the electric furnace 1 at the other end thereof while transported by the above stated high temp. exhaust gas passing through the duct 3, the combustion chamber 4 and a blower 18. The granular stock material 8a supplied into the furnace 1 is melted and refined by arc heat generated by an electrode 2 to generate a high temp. exhaust gas. |
