PURPOSE:To improve the strength of a compact type fluorescent lamp by airtightly bonding a glass cover along an opening section that seals both the outer and inner bodies of an enclosure device and connecting an enclosed spacial area to the inner part of a groove that forms a discharge path. CONSTITUTION:A meadering groove 6 is formed as a discharge path by overlapping both the outer and inner bodies 2 and 3 of an enclosure device made of glass material with a curved surface and electrodes 7 and 8 are retained at the end of the groove 6. Simultaneously a compact type fluorescent lamp is formed by coating the inner surface of the groove 6 with a phosphor and sealing rare gas and mercury. Besides, both the outer and inner bodies 2 and 3 are airtightly bonded at an opening section 4 using glass frit 5 and a disk-shaped glass cover 15 is also airtightly bonded along the opening section 4 and then the inner part of the groove 6 and an enclosed spacial area 16 are set to the same pressure by connecting the spacial area 16 to the groove 6. As a result, the strength of the inner body 3 can be improved and its damage can be prevented and its quality can be improved. |
