PURPOSE:To accomplish the secure and tight adhesion of the surfaces of movable molds when the molds are closed and to prevent the leakage of molten metal, by mounting magnets to the side surfaces of the adjacent movable casting molds which face each other, and attracting said surfaces to each other. CONSTITUTION:When movable casting molds 2 which are rotated from the position at the uppermost point in an open state according to the rotation of a casting wheel 1 come to a prescribed position, the molds form a thoroughly closed small space 3a. Electricity is conducted in this stage to electromagnets 18 cooperatively with the closing operation of the molds 2, and a powerful attraction force is generated between the adjacent molds 2 and the matched surfaces thereof are securely and tightly adhered. Therefore, no clearances are generated in the casting mold space 3a formed by the same. Molten metal 4 is charged to the top end of the space 3a through the nozzle from a tundish and the metal 4 is cooled through the circumferential molds 2 and the wheel 1. |
