PURPOSE:To improve the operability of a titled system, by converting positional information of data of each tape into positional information of data of an integrated tape and installing the converted positional information to the leading edge of the integrated tape, when plural magnetic tapes are integrated in one tape. CONSTITUTION:When plural magnetic tapes T containing the positional information of data 1 and data 2, 2,- are integrated in one magnetic tape T', the positional information 1 of the data of each tape is converted into the positional information 5 of the integrated tape T' and, at the same time, the positional information 5 is gathered to the leading edge of the integrated tape T' and recorded. The data 2 of each tape T are stored next to the positional information 5 as data groups 6, 6,-. Therefore, the data of the integrated tape T' can be handled easily by means of the positional information of the integrated tape T' only and the utilizing efficiency of the tape can be improved. |
