PURPOSE:To reduce in size and the improve in operability of a record player by containing a phono motor for rotating a phonographic record, pickup, electric control device, and the driving device of the pickup in a bench plate, and arranging an operation switch positioned outside the outer periphery of a phonographic record when a cover body fitted rotatably to the bench plate is fully opened. CONSTITUTION:When a cover body 14 is opened downward from the upper surface of a bench plate 1 and a phonographic record 4 is put on a turntable seat 3, operation switches 15a-15c fitted to the cover body 14 come outside the outer periphery of the record 4. When the start switch 15b is depressed to play the recod 4 thereafter, the record 4 is rotated counterclockwise by means of a phono motor installed to the inside of the bench plate 1 and a pickup 5 is lifted up, and then, the pointed end of a stylus contacts with the surface of the record 4 and traces the sounding groove from the bottom of the record surface. As the tracing advances and a control signal is inputted into a driving motor 6 from an electric control device and the motor 6 starts rotation, the driving force of the motor 6 is transmitted in the order of a worm 7, worm wheel 8, and driving rope 9 and a pickup arm holder 13 moves between two guide rollers 10 under the guidance of a guide rail 11 and guide plate 12. |
