PURPOSE:To obtain an oxygen sensor having high reliability by disposing a porous heat insulating member consisting of heat resistant inorg. fibers to the surface of an electrode in contact with gas to be detected. CONSTITUTION:A mat-like heat insulating member consisting essentially of kaolin fibers and having approximately the same plane as the plane of a blank body 1, 0.5mm. thickness and about 30% porosity is used for the porous heat insulating member 8. The member 8 is fixed together with the body 1 to a holder 5. An electrode 2' on the flame side is fixed to the holder 5 so as to face a hole 7 drilled perliminarily to the holder 5. A cover 6 is provided to the holder 5. The impulsive change in oxygen concn. owing to the slight oscillation of the flame is absorbed by the member 8 if the thickness of the member 8 is increased in the above-mentioned manner. The reliability is thus improved. |
