PURPOSE:To obtain the titled substance which is a presursor of a flocculant for the treatment of industrial waste water, by reacting a benzalsorbit having plural OH groups with a halogenated urea, and reacting the obtained intermediate containing carbamoyl group with glyceroyl dihalohydrin. CONSTITUTION:The benzalsorbit of formula I or II having >=2 OH groups is made to react with a halogenated urea (preferably chlorourea) by heating preferably at 100-150 deg.C for 30-90min to obtain the intermediate of formula IIIhaving >=2 carbamoyl groups. The objective compound of formula V or VI can be prepared by reacting the intermediate with the glyceroyl dihalohydrin of formula IV (X is Cl, Br or I). |
