PURPOSE:To remove efficiently nonmetallic inclusions in molten steel, and to manufacture high purity clean steel, by inserting a cylinder body made of refractory at center part of a ladle contg. molten steel, revolving the ladle and jetting inert gas from the cylinder body. CONSTITUTION:The molten steel 2 whose contents of impurities such as C, S, P are decreased previously by vacuum degassing method, etc. is charged in the ladle 1, and the cylinder body 14 made of refractory is inserted into the bath 2 through a cover 13. The ladle 1 is revolved at a prescribed revolving number, by revolution of a shaft 5 by a motor 11 mounted on a revolving table 3, and inert gas is jetted from gas jetting holes 18, 19 opened at the shaft 15 of the body 14 to produce nonoxidizing atmosphere in the ladle and to stir the bath 2. Vortex flow is generated in the steel 2 by revolution of the ladle 1, nonmetallic inclusions such as Al2O3 in molten steel are collected to center of vortex flow, coagulated, enlarged at surface of the body 14, floated to molten steel surface and caught in molten slag. Clean steel contg. less impurity and nonmetallic inclusion can be manufactured easily. |
