PURPOSE:To enable the efficient recovery of coenzyme and the industrial utilization of the recovered coenzyme, by contacting an adsorbent adsorbed with a coenzyme with a solution containing the same kind of coenzyme, eluting the adsorbed coenzyme to attain the initial state, and repeating the above procedures. CONSTITUTION:The adsorbent of the formula is produced e.g. by bonding m- aminobenzeneboric acid to a carrier such as a derivative of a polysaccharide (e.g. cellulose), a synthetic polymer (e.g. polyacrylamide) or an inorganic sub stance (e.g. porous glass), thereby introducing dihydroxyboryl group to the carrier. The adsorbent is adsorbed preliminarily with x mol of coenzyme, and filled in a column. After setting the column to the adsorption condition, a solu tion containing the coenzyme (e.g. nicotinamide-adenine dinucleotide) is passed through the column to obtain the adsorbent adsorbed with x+y mol of the coenzyme. A coenzyme-free solution for desorption is passed through the column to effect the desorption of the coenzyme until the amount of the adsorbed coen zyme is decreased to x mol, and the desorbed coenzyme is recovered. The above adsorption and desorption procedures are repeated to achieve the objective recovery process.
