NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (R1 and R2 are lower alkyl). EXAMPLE:4-Ally-1-ethoxycarbonyl-4-methyl-1, 4-dihydroquinoline-2-diethyl phosphonate. USE:Industrial fungicide. PREPARATION:The 4-alkyl-1-ethoxycarbonyl-1, 2-dihydroquinoline-2-dialkylphos- phonate of formula II (e.g. 1ethoxycarbonyl-4-methyl-1, 2-dihydroquinoline-2- diethylphos-phonate) is converted to an alkali metal salt and made to react with an allyl halide (e.g. allyl bromide in a solvent (preferably THF, etc.) at -80 deg.C- room temperature.
