PURPOSE:To make switching of address of writing and reading unnecessary and to attain high speed picture drawing by selecting 1 line out of n lines in which 1 line consists of m bits. CONSTITUTION:The device 1 is provided with a memory cell 2 of nXm bits, an inputting/outputting device 11 for writing/reading of data in each cell, a device 12 that inputs an address signal for address designation of each cell independently, devices 13 and 14 that input controlling signals of writing/reading, a line address inputting device 16 that selects 1 line out of (n) lines in which 1 line is constituted of (m) bits independently and a shift register 3 that receives (m) bits outputted according to line selection in parallel and outputs in series. Data of line cell designated by the address signal from the inputting device 12 for each cell independently are converted in the register 3 and read out. Separately from this reading, writing/reading for the cell designated by the address signal from the inputting device 12 independently for each cell are performed.
