PURPOSE:To attain an effective operation of a control system as a whole by setting the master device side in a waiting state for key indication when an error occurs in an information transmission mode and permitting a prescribed indication in response to the relation between the type of the error and a job indicated by the master device. CONSTITUTION:An ECR system is formed by connecting plural slave devices S to a master device M via a circuit L, and an error deciding circuit 3A decides the type of the error of each device S in relation to a CPU 3 of the device M. Then the device M informs the states (contents) of errors to an operator in response to the generation of various transmission errors when the informa tion is transferred between the device M and devices S by a transmission request given from the device M. At the same time, the device M is set in an instruction waiting state and then can permit only the prescribed one of canceling, accep tance and retry instructions according to the relation between at least the type of the error in an error state and the job indicated by the master M. In such a way, control is attained quickly in accordance with the error contents.
