PURPOSE:To reduce the consumption of a fixing web and to prolong the replacement period of the fixing web by driving a fixing web supply means on the basis of the application timing of a developing bias. CONSTITUTION:A fixing roller 13 is driven with a fixing roller driving signal from a control circuit 28 simultaneously with the start of copying operation and stopped simultaneously with the end of the copying operation. The fixing web 18, on the other hand, is supplied by a fixing web driving motor 24 which is driven with a developing bias application signal. The timing of the driving of the fixing web 18 is synchronized with the developing bias to drive the fixing web 18 for a time nearly equal o the time when toner developed by a developing device 3 passes through the fixing roller 13. Therefore, a separating agent is applied to the fixing roller 13 and cleaned away securely every time recording paper passes through the fixing roller 13, and the consumption of the fixing web 18 per sheet becomes equal. Consequently, the consumption of the fixing web is reduced greatly and the replacement period of the fixing web is prolonged. |
