The mechanism takes up clearance between a drilling platform and a foundation pile movable lengthwise in relation to it. It comprises a cam roller turning in one of the components and with a radial stop face, acting against a stationary part of the other component, together with a roughly tangential thrust face. When the roller is turned, the latter face forms a clamp against the mating face on the other component.
