PURPOSE:To obtain a silver halide photographic sensitive material having high sensitivity with reduced fog causing less deterioration of sensitivity with the lapse of time by color sensitizing silver halide particles contained in a silver halide layer with a specified compd. CONSTITUTION:Silver halide particles contained in at least a layer of silver halide emulsion layers are color sensitized with a compd. expressed by the formula (I). In the formula, Y1 and Y2 express a nonmetal atom group necessary for forming a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring; R7, R8, R9 are H, halogen, lower alkyl, aralkyl, aryl, lower alkoxy or heterocyclic; R6 is alkyl, aralkyl, alkenyl; X<-> is anion; i, j, k, l, m are each zero or 1; p in a substituent in N- position is an integer 0-4; and q is an integer 1-10; n is an integer 1-10; R5 is H, lower alkyl, or F atom. By this method, a photographic sensitive material having high sensitivity and low fog is obtd. |
