PURPOSE:To reduce considerably the eddy-current loss of an amorphous magnetic steel strip by applying Zr alcoholate to the surface of the steel strip and drying and baking it at a specified temp. to form an insulating film. CONSTITUTION:Zr alcoholate mixed optionally with Si alcoholate is applied to the surface of an amorphous magnetic steel strip, dried, and baked at a temp. below the crystallization temp. of the amorphous magnetic steel to form an insulating metallic oxide film. This metallic oxide film has a low coefft. of thermal expansion and minimizes compressive stress unfavorable for the magnetic steel material after annealing. |
