The horizontal roller bearing is particularly for the working roller of a rolling mill, and supports the roller trunnion in the bore of an insert, with one or more rows of rollers on the trunnion working in an outer race. The bottom part of the bearing chamber is filled with liquid lubricant up to the level of the axes of the lowermost bearing rollers. On one or both sides of the outer race (7,8,9) is an annular chamber (22), communicating with the bottom part of the bearing chamber (17) and enclosed on the outside by the insert (5), while level with the lowermost bearing roller (3) a horizontal hole is drilled in the insert, at right angles to the main roller turnnion (1). The diameter of this hole is greater than that of the bearing rollers in each row, and its outer end is sealed by a plug. |
