EXHAUST GAS TREATMENT BY ADDITION OF AMMONIA AND IRRADIATION OF RADIANT RAY

PURPOSE:To inhibit a sulfamic acid-base compd. by performing both addition of ammonia and irradiation of radiant ray to exhaust gas under the existence of a trapping agent of OH radical and decreasing the sulfamic acid-base compd. contained in a produced by-product. CONSTITUTION:Exhaust gas containing NOx and SOx is generated in a boiler 2 wherein air for combustion is fed from a blower 1 and the proper amount of a trapping agent (CO, H2) of OH radical is added to this exhaust gas from a feeder 3. Then NH3 is added to exhaust gas from a line 7 and thereafter the mixture is introduced into a reactor 8 and subjected to irradiating treatment with electron beams fed from an electron beam generator 9. The gas after irradiating treatment is introduced into a dust collector 10 and ammonium nitrate and ammonium sulfate free from sulfamic acid-base compd. of a by- product are recovered and purified gas is passed through a blower 11 and discharged to the atmosphere.
