PURPOSE:To obtain a solid developed image by forming a specific magnetic brush in a developing area of a developer carrying body by magnetic grains covered with an electrical insulating resin whose true specific gravity is <=6, allowing a non-magnetic toner to execute a reciprocating motion between a latent image holding body, the surface of the developer carrying body, and the surface of the magnetic brush, and executing a development. CONSTITUTION:In case of executing a development by a dry type developing system, in a developer consisting of a non-magnetic toner 9 and magnetic grains, a magnetic brush 22 is formed so that the existence quantity of the magnetic grains in a developing area of a developer carrying body goes to 5-80mg/cm<2>, by the magnetic grains covered with an electrical insulating resin whose true specific gravity is <=6, and also, which consists of the same constitution as that of the non-magnetic toner substantially. In such a state, a latent image is developed, while allowing the non-magnetic toner 9 to execute a reciprocating motion, between a latent image holding body, the surface of the developer carrying body, and the surface of the magnetic brush 22 formed on the surface of the developer carrying body. In such a way, a satisfactory picture quality which has no fogging and whose solid image is homogeneous can be obtained. |
