The revolving hay gathering machine has six rake wheels (2,3,4) mounted on supports wherein the supports (34) for the outer wheels (4) are connected to swivel up about swivel axes (33). The ends of the hydraulic setting members (40,41) which move the supports into a transport position each engage for articulated movement between bearings (38) on the inner machine frame (8) and bearings (39) on the supports of the outer rake wheels so that each hydraulic setting member bridges the swivel axis (28) of the support (31) of the wheel (3) and the swivel axis (33) of the support of the wheel on one machine side-relative to the direction of travel A. On operating the setting member (40 or 41) first the outer support (34) is raised and swivelled about the swivel axes (33) until reaching a stop and then the rake wheels (3,4) are swivelled up as interconnected units about the swivel axes (28) until reaching the transport position.
