To permit two or more window patches to be cut for each envelope by the cross cutter of the parent specification, the cutter comprises at least two parts 130, 230, each having a knife, and each individually mounted on a shaft so that one may be displaced angularly and axially relative to the other. Separate strips of window material are supplied to each of the parts by separate sets of feed rollers running at different speeds. Thus window pieces of a different size may be applied, staggered, to an envelope. |
