Ingot or billet upsetting press

The upsetting press has a frame, in which eccentric-driven forging tools on opposite sides of the work are moved towards each other in the horizontal direction. It has a double-throw crankshaft (14) in bearings fixed w.r.t. the foundation (F). One throw is coupled by a tappet to the first forging tool (8), sliding in the frame (1). The second throw, of the same radius as the first one, but offset by 180 deg. from it, is coupled by a second tappet to the frame, which slides horizontally together with the second forging tool (7) fixed to it, but in the opposite direction to the first tool w.r.t. the foundation, typically on rollers (3) in the foundation fixed bearings.
