The aid comprises a rigid rod or tube (2), means (1) for securing one end of the rod or tube (2) to the head or headgear of a user (7) so that it extends in a substantially horizontal direction away from the front of the user (7), and means (3) for securing a string or cord (4) to the other end of the rod or tube (2).
