PURPOSE:To align a plurality of chips in an orderly line simultaneously, successively and automatically in order to arrange a number of chips fed in a randomly oriented condition in a predetermined line. CONSTITUTION:The subject automatic aligning machine is for bringing a long, narrow chip 1 having a large-diametered base part 2 at one end into a position with the other end 3 thereof down. An orientation part 7 for passing therethrough a number of chips 1 by dropping from above is provided therein with a plurality of side walls 5 so arranged as to define a chip passage 4 in order to pass therethrough the chips one at a time and each side wall 5 is given a different height at its upper end, so that each chip is hit against the upper end thereof and aligned in the same line, thereby making its entry into the passage 4 easy. At the lower part of the chip passage 4, a plurality of rails 8 are provided at predetermined intervals and in a plurality of rows to suspend the chips 1 therefrom in a predetermined position by allowing the end 3 of the chip to pass therethrough but engaging its large-diametered base part 2 therewith and each rail 8 is provided at its end with an aligning part 9 for bringing the chips retained in a predetermined position into an orderly line and a chip moving means for moving the chip 1. |
