PURPOSE:To provide a new lighting equipment ratinalized on the premise that a circular discharge lamp is lighted at a high-frequency wave. CONSTITUTION:A circular discharge lamp 3 driven by a high-frequency lighting member 2 which is controlled by a controller 1 composed adequately of a microcomputer, a logic circuit, and the like is provided. While only a single lamp of the rating lamp power about 50 to 110W is used as the discharge lamp 3, the discharge lamp 3 can be controlled to an extinction condition by the controller 1. In consideration of the length of discharge passage, a compact size can be obtained by using a spiral form, or a helix form of discharge lamp, instead of the so-called circular lamp. A necessary illuminance in case of a normal area of room can be obtained by a single circular discharge lamp, and that is reasonable. |
