<p>The invention relates to an aeration device for treating sewage, which aeration device is intended to be installed essentially near the bottom of an aeration reactor and which aeration device exhibits a stator 3, 13, 21 which is mounted concentrically around a mixing and dispersing member 1, 11, and flow channels 4, 15, 22, which diverge from the same stator circumference 6, 14, 23, have been created in the stator 3, 13, 21. According to the invention, the wall 7, 17 of the flow channel 4, 15 which, seen in the direction of rotation of the mixing and dispersing member 1, 12, is the first to leave the stator circumference 6, 14, 23 which is formed by the orifices of the flow channels, distances itself in the form of an essentially uniform curve until the wall 7, 17 of the flow channel reaches what is radially at least half the distance 8 between the division points 5, 16 in the stator 3, 13, 21 which separate the orifices of two flow channels, after which the walls 7, 17; 9, 18 of the flow channels converge in a rectilinear or arcuate manner relative to each other such that the centrifugal force can advantageously be exploited in the flow channel 4, 15, 22.
