The drum gear wheel (28a) drives a sleeve (27b) of a developer unit (27), which is arranged at one side of the light responsive drum (28) with an intermediate space. A cleaning gear wheel (29a) meshes with the drum gear wheel (28a), to drive the cleaning roller (29b) of a cleaning unit, arranged at the other side of the drum (28). The cleaning gear wheel relative to the sleeve gear wheel (27a) is arranged on the opposite side of the drum. A further drum gear wheel (28c) is fitted on the other end of the drum shaft, to prevent a deflection of the drum. A further sleeve gear wheel (27c) meshes with the further drum gear wheel (28c), in order to prevent a deflection of the sleeve. A further cleaning gear wheel (29c) also meshes with the gear wheel (28c), to prevent a deflection of the cleaning roller. ADVANTAGE - Deviations of relative positions of drum, sleeve and cleaning blade in drive system are prevented. Image quality and cleaning effect of drum are improved.
