An aqueous composition for finishing spun polyamide filaments comprises polyacrylic acid, polyethylene glycol-di-(2-ethylhexoate), sodium dioctylsulphosuccinate, dimethylpolysiloxane, sodium trioleate and sodium monolaurate.ALSO:A "zero-twist" yarn, i.e. one having no measurable twist in several yards length, comprises drawn synthetic filaments, and is covered by a film of polymeric material. The yarn is suitably made of polyamide or polyester. The coating is suitably polyacylic acid, but many synthetic resins are mentioned. The coating is applied as a solution in an inert solvent on the undrawn yarn, which is then drawn and the solvent removed (see Div. B4-5).
