The machine (1) has an engine rotor (11) rotatably supported at a perfect axial direction (7). Permanent-magnets are distributedly arranged along a circumference and exhibiting alternate polarity, where the circumference is concentric with the perfect axial direction. An engine rotor (9) is relocatably supported along the perfect axial direction relative to an adjustable squirrel cage winding and the engine rotor (11). A switching arrangement (5) enables current flow in the adjustable winding based on angle positions of the engine rotors. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling an electrical machine.
