PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a time by reducing the number of times of corrections of unbalance and suppress vibration when starting spin-drying. SOLUTION: This washing machine includes vibration detecting means 17 for detecting the vibration of a receiving tub 13, unbalance amount estimation means 20 for estimating the unbalance amount according to an output of the vibration detecting means 17, and control means 21 for controlling a motor 12 based on the outputs of the vibration detecting means 17 and the unbalance amount estimation means 20; wherein the control means 21 has first unbalance determination means 22 for continuously rotating the motor 12 after a disentanglement step and determining the unbalance in a lowered state in a lowering step, and second unbalance determination means for continuously rotating the motor 12 after the first unbalance determination and determining the unbalance in a raised state in a raising step. This constitution can highly accurately detect the deviation of laundry and controls the operation causing neither abnormal vibration nor abnormal noise. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
