Material is discharged to either side of an endless conveyer belt 10 at any desired point along the length thereof by an endless slinger belt 20 mounted on a carriage 30 and extending transverse of the conveyer belt 10. The carriage 30 is movable on wheels 40a, 40b, 42a, 42b, along the conveyer belt framework 13 and mounts a transfer roller 11 and a power takeoff roller 12 over and around which the conveyer belt 10 extends to discharge the material on to the slinger belt 20. The roller 12 drives through universal couplings 52, 53 and a gear-box 51 a drive roller 21 of the slinger belt 20. The gear-box 51 is reversible, whereby the material can be discharged to either side of the conveyer belt and has a variable speed gearing. A guide channel 60 with arms 60a, 60b is fixed above the transfer roller 11 to guide the material on to the slinger belt and a deflector assembly 61 comprising a divider strip 61a and a pair of arms 61b, 61c is pivotally mounted over the slinger belt in line with the belt 10 to deflect the material on to the slinger belt and to the side to which it is to be discharged. |
