APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING MULTIMEDIA DATA RATE

A multimedia data rate control device and a method thereof are provided to configure a buffer and multimedia data by considering a network environment to which a terminal is connected, thus a certain amount of the multimedia data can be delivered without causing fragmentation when the data is transmitted. A data generator(110) individually generates input files as multimedia data having different bandwidths according to plural network environments. A data transmitter(120) consists of plural user transmitters(121-123) for sending the generated multimedia data according to terminals(10-1 to 10-3) connected through the network environments. A data rate controller(130) calculates maximum rates of the terminals with data rates of the multimedia data to compare the data rates, and obtains the compared results.
