PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide communication equipment capable of accurately registering a telephone number to a telephone directory by a simple operation. SOLUTION: When the communication equipment detects a calling signal from a base station (S1), an alarm of calling is sounded and at the same time, in the case that a caller number is sent from a caller side, telephone number data are stored in a memory and the telephone number is displayed on a display unit (S3). A call is terminated by off-hook operation by a user thereafter, and a speech operation is performed (S4). After the end of speech, a telephone number desired to be registered on the telephone directory is selected, and telephone number data are transferred to a telephone directory memory and stored (S6) by a predetermined single registration operation (S5). Thereafter, a registration name corresponding to the telephone number is registered and the telephone number and the registration name are registered in the telephone directory memory by a predetermined single operation (S7).
