PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a vehicle in which diagnostically abnormal codes are deleted according to whether a re-programming is performed or not. SOLUTION: This control device for a vehicle comprises an EEPROM 6 for storing trouble history information of the vehicle and specific information for specifying a program in a nonvolatile manner; and a flash ROM 16 storing the program rewritably in a nonvolatile manner. A CPU 12 deletes first trouble history information from the EEPROM 6 if the specific information stored in the EEPROM 6 does not match the specific information corresponding to the program after the re-writing when the program stored in the flash ROM 16 has been re-written.
